Health and Safety Measures

We take the health and safety of our community very seriously. As of June 11, the State of Illinois and the City of Chicago have moved to Phase 5. However, there are still some limitations and we will continue to stay on the cautious side of things based on medical guidance from consultants and trusted members of our community. The ongoing safety of our performers, staff, faculty, students, and volunteers remains our highest priority. We will continue to do our best to provide the most up-to-date information.
Updated Policy:

Proof of Vaccination: Proof of vaccination is No Longer required for entry to our events. It is notable that all of our audience members in January 2022 presented proof of vaccination at the door to join the audience, and most will return again this year. So we are optimistic that our audiences will again remain healthy and use their best judgement to protect their health and the health of vulnerable people around them.

Masking: The mask mandate was lifted by the City of Chicago in February 2022. That said while masks are not required, they are highly recommended in larger group settings like sitting in the theater. Just ask for one at the box office when you arrive. In the larger theaters in particular it is highly encouraged by the venue — specifically at the Studebaker Theater which is a 600 seat house.

This policy is subject to change based on city and state guidelines and/or as guidance evolves.

If you no longer wish to participate in our programming based on this policy, please call our office (312) 753-3234, or email info@chicagopuppetfest.org for your options. Thank you for your understanding and support while we navigate this unusual time and aim to do our part to keep our community safe and do our part to activate and revitalize the theater community in Chicago.
